The first station was opened by the South Eastern Railway on 1 April 1864[3] adjacent to the north side of Bridge Road. The present station, further to the north, was opened in 1866 when the first station was closed.[3] The station was rebuilt in 1904-6. South of the station is a curve to Beckenham Junction, following the path of the original Mid-Kent Line from Lewisham to Beckenham.[4] It is served by two trains a day.
